Air conditioning compressor for VW Golf V Hatchback 1K1 Diesel / 1.9 - 2.0 liters / 2003 - 2008 year. AC compressor for VW Golf V Hatchback (1K1) 1.9 TDI (66 kW / 90 hp) BRU, BXF, BXJ 05/2004 - 11.2008. My Mk5 air-con doesn't work and had the same problem of getting it recharged only to be told that wasn't the problem. If I leave mine on, every now and then it will cough out a bit of cold air. The compressor is expensive and bound to be expensive to get done as you have to have is discharged and recharged afterwards. Yes fuse no. 22 is for the Air blower for the climatronic system and has a 40 amp fuse. This fuse is not blown. However, fuse no. 4 (heating, air conditioning, electrically adjustable seats) being blown is what is stopping the blower motor working. You're spot on here. If you're mostly on good open A and B roads Air con is hardly ever missed. But as AJP has said. In the city; Air con on = Calm, slow, boring commute to work. Air con delete = sweaty road rage inducing, life shortening, slow commute to work. « Last Edit: August 31, 2016, 08:46:39 pm by ducman77 ». May 15, 2017, 11:36:29 AM. I was asked to help try to sort out an air con fault on one of the extended family's cars recently- a Mk5 Golf GTi. The air con had apparently recently stopped working, and a quick check of the system revealed that there was zero gas in it so obviously a leak somewhere. Re: mk5 air vents not good. « Reply #9 on: November 01, 2012, 10:16:32 pm ». Use the Aircon through the winter months for dehumidifying the damp air and vitally maintaining the Aircon compressor. I believe its internals are partially lubricated by the movement of the refrigerant and the seals and O rings can fail if the compressor is not run After about 20 minutes of driving, the vents begin blowing warmer air—above temperature of the air outside. This happens with the AC off, but the temperature dial set at the lowest "cool" setting (I have the manual temperature control). Very noticeable at night, when the exterior temp is much lower. If it will turn then try checking the relevant fuse, etc. or take out the fans and open up the small one to see if one of the carbon brushes has stuck open. If so, free off, clean, reassemble and see if that helps. If the small fan isn't turning then the system can't cool the refrigerant which leads to no cool air. Hope this helps. MkkKh.
